About
I’m Martine Wisotsky (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist based in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. My approach to therapy draws from various theories including psychodynamic, relational, and attachment. I utilize a trauma-informed approach which acknowledges how past experiences get stored in the body, and incorporate EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to help you process traumatic events. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, and strive to be culturally humble when working across difference. I recognize the influence of systemic inequalities on mental well-being and actively integrate this awareness into my practice.
I feel honored to have been part of so many people’s lives at a time when they needed support, and to witness their growth. I have experience as a therapist in a program for adults with intellectual disabilities, a counseling center for survivors of domestic violence, and on a research study for mothers with PTSD.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a strategist, fundraiser, and program coordinator in various organizations dedicated to fighting social inequality.
Originally from Miami, Florida, I have called Brooklyn home for over a decade.
